It started when my bank account was drained of $30,000 — after someone impersonated me using nothing more than an old address. No alert. No call. Just gone.
Then came the rest:
- My identity was sold on the dark web, used to open multiple phones and credit cards under my name.
- My debit cards were cloned at gas stations — more times than I can count.
- My wife's iPhone was hacked and her social accounts were banned after she shared content during a peaceful protest in Canada.
- I was shadowbanned and banned on social media for posting pictures at a protest — no warning, no appeal.
- While traveling, our hotel safe was broken into — and our credit card data was skimmed and used.
